AMENITIES
Living an active lifestyle at Big Canoe is easy with dozens of amenities suitable for all skill levels. From relaxing activities to exciting adventures, there’s something for everyone at Big Canoe.
With three scenic golf courses to choose from, you can enjoy our 27-hole mountain course built for all skill levels. A round of golf on any of our championship courses is an experience like no other, immersing players in magnificent mountain views, rushing streams, and lush valleys.
If you’re looking for practice opportunities before you hit the course, our driving range is the perfect place to improve your game. Beyond the course, get to know our friendly team at the pro shop and stock up on your favorite gear.
Big Canoe has two neighborhood restaurants: The Mountains Grill at the Clubhouse on Lake Sconti and Duffers. The Mountains Grill is the perfect place to enjoy a lakeside dinner with friends or enjoy a nice lunch with family. For quick bites and ready-to-go lunches, stop by Duffers on the golf course.
Beyond Big Canoe’s gates, there are many restaurants that locals enjoy like 61 Main, Fuego Mexican Grill, Home Restaurant, and more fabulous eateries.
Our 17,000 sq. ft fitness center accommodates a wide variety of skill levels and features high-end equipment designed to model everyday movements. We offer state-of-the-art cardio machines, free weights, Technogym strength training equipment, two indoor tennis courts, racquetball, squash, and a five-lane indoor salt water pool.
If you prefer to work out in a group setting, try one of our fitness classes. Choose from step, yoga, water aerobics, Tai Chi, Pilates, Zumba, and more.
Hiking and nature walks are a huge part of Big Canoe’s culture. Whether you prefer a morning walk with your dog on the trail, or you’d rather ride on our 1.6 upper mile Jeep trail, Big Canoe has more than 20 miles of maintained mountain wilderness for you to enjoy.
Our hiking trails are diverse, offering a mix of sites to see and explore like Native American rock parks, wildflower fields, ponds and creeks, mixed-surface trails, wildlife, and more.
Big Canoe is home to three stunning mountainside lakes that residents and visitors simply can’t get enough of. Whether you’re cruising, fishing, paddle boarding, or swimming, our landscape allows you to live “the lake life” your way.
For boating and fishing, we recommend visiting Lake Petit. This is the largest lake in Big Canoe, spanning 111 acres and 100 foot deep water. You’ll find plenty of rainbow trout, bass, bluegill, crappie, and brim in this lake. While you’re on Lake Petit, stop by The Shack at the Big Canoe Marina for gear, boat rentals, or to say hello to our team.
Our other two lakes are Lake Sconti and Lake Disharoon. For a quieter fishing experience, we recommend visiting Lake Sconti. If you’re looking for a natural swimming spot and place for water sports, Lake Disharoon is the place you’ll want to go!
Our community certainly has a love for tennis and pickleball, so much so, that we’ve built 18 courts for players to enjoy. Choose from six outdoor tennis courts, two indoor tennis courts, and 10 pickleball courts.
Our on-site tennis pro shop is stocked with plenty of tennis gear, and our team offers professional stringing and racket customization services so you can make the most of your time on the court.
If you’re new to racket sports or want to work on your skills, you can work with a coach in a private lesson or group setting. Classes are offered seven days a week, taught by USPTA certified teaching professionals.
Inside the fitness center, you’ll find a professional spa where you can relax, unwind, and enjoy some pampering. Our spa specialists offer many types of massage sessions, including Swedish, deep tissue, neuromuscular, craniosacral, sport, and more. We also offer hot stone treatments and reflexology sessions for recovery and overall health.
Big Canoe offers multiple swimming experiences for our residents and guests. For those looking for a nature pool, we recommend The Swim Club at Lake Disharoon. This free-form outdoor pool overlooks the lake and features our fan-favorite natural rockslide!
We also have an additional pool for adults and a separate kiddie pool for children at the Wildcat Recreation Center. For indoor swimming, check out our pool at the Fitness Center.
